Idaho 1st through 12th Graders Asked to Write About “What My Family Member’s Military Service Means to Me”
Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho announced details today of its fourth annual “Veterans Day Essay Contest” , encouraging students with a family member who has served or is serving in the Armed Forces to reflect on what their service means to them.
Prizes will be awarded and winners invited to present their essays during a special presentation at the Fourth Annual “Farm Bureau Salute to Idaho Veterans” on November 7 at the Farm Bureau Pocatello home office.

Contest Rules
The contest is open to children from 1st through 12th grade with a family member who has served or is serving in the Armed Forces. Essays must answer the contest topic in 750 words or less. All entries become the property of Farm Bureau Insurance and will not be returned. Essays must be original compositions produced solely by the entrant.
The contest will be separated into three categories for judging: 1st – 6th grade, 7th – 9th grade, and 10th – 12th grade. One winner from each category will be awarded a check: $250 for Category 1, $500 for Category 2, $750 for Category 3.
Entries will be judged by a panel of individuals representing Farm Bureau Insurance and the Chubbuck / Pocatello Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee.

Entry Deadline
