Free Event on Friday, November 8, Honors Local Veterans and Current Armed Services Personnel
Pocatello-area Veterans and current Armed Services personnel and their families are invited to attend this celebration featuring a meet and greet, a traditional flag ceremony performed by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard, recognition of Veterans with a brass quintet playing military branch hymns, a speech by U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant (Ret) Robert M. Davis, a luncheon, Veteran slide show, free photo portraits for Veterans and current Armed Services personnel, and a complimentary gift.
The “Salute” is a prelude to the longstanding traditions that local Veterans Services Organizations have carried out each year on November 11, and is Farm Bureau’s way of saying “thank you” to our local Veterans and current Armed Services personnel for their service to our country. Phil Joslin, CEO of Farm Bureau Insurance added, “We pass these Veterans on the street every day and may never know the sacrifices they made or the risks they took to protect our freedom. The ‘Salute’ is a time when we can let our Veterans know how much we appreciate them. It’s an honor for us to recognize our local heroes.”
The “Salute” will be held at Farm Bureau’s 275 Tierra Vista Drive location in Pocatello. The event gets underway at 10:30 AM with an informal meet and greet and concludes at 1:30 PM with photographs of servicemen and women in attendance by professional photographer Eric Gordon of Gordon Photography.
If you are a Veteran or currently in the Armed Services and would like to attend, please RSVP to Amber Petersen at 239-4448 or apetersen@idfbins.com.
